History v wheelchair access

Maintaining heritage buildings such as museums, cathedrals, churches and libraries also requires the additional task of providing wheelchair access that doesn’t  look out of place or add a ‘carbuncle’ to historical buildings.

This task has been made easier with the introduction of wheelchair lifts which are either hidden when not in use or blend unobtrusively into their surroundings.
